Line Functions

The available line functions are "Copy Line," "Delete Line," "Reset Line," "Reverse Line," and "Add Line to Favorites."  In order for the line functions to work, you must first select the row or rows in the timesheet by selecting the checkbox to the left of the row. This will highlight the entire row in blue. Each option is further defined in the following paragraphs.

Copy Line

Select the Copy Line function to duplicate the selected line on the next available timesheet line. The charge information and line comments will be copied. The cell comment if it exists will not be copied to the new line.

The Copy Line function will be disabled for the following reasons:

Delete Line

Click Delete Line to delete the selected line from the timesheet. If you have not yet saved the selected line, this completely removes the line, including any entered hours, line comments, cell comments and move up any lines below it.

If you have already saved the selected line, click Delete Line to zero out any cell hours in the line that are not processed, sent, or part of a reversal. Cell comments on the zeroed cells, if they exist, will be made null. If there are no processed, sent, or reversal cells on the line, the line comment will be made null also. When you next save the timesheet, you must provide a revision explanation.

Delete Line is disabled in the following cases:

Reset Line

Select the Reset Line function to reset the selected line to the previous values found in the database. If you have not yet saved the selected line, use the Reset Line function to completely remove the line, including any entered hours, line or cell comments, and move up any lines below it.

If you have already saved the selected line, use the Reset Line function to reset the line to the previous values found in the database for charge information, line comments, cell comments, hours and possible rates and amounts.

The Reset Line function will be disabled for the following reasons:

Reverse Line

Select the Reverse Line function to copy the charge information and line comments of the selected line and add negative hours to offset the corresponding charges. When you next save the timesheet, you must provide a revision explanation.

The Reverse Line function will be disabled for the following reasons:

Add Line to Favorites

Select this option to add the selected timesheet row(s), including your line comments, to your Favorites list. You can then access these charges through Charge Lookup and select them from the Favorites drill-down.

The Add Line to Favorites function will be disabled for the following reasons:

If you want the items in your Favorites list to automatically default when you first open a new timesheet, do the following.

If you select the Load Favorites checkbox in your Preferences screen, the next time you open a new timesheet, the charges will automatically default unless you uncheck the Load checkbox in the favorites list.
